THE PRINCE AT HOME.

LIFE OF VARIED ACTIVITY.

LEADER OF SOCIETY.

LONDON. J«a. 1&

The Prince of Wales has thoroughly settled down to London life. He is greatly enjoying the wide scope of activity which has come to him since his return from Australia. He is attending many public engagements and giving his patronage to a wider field of funds and public movements, including scientific, than any of the previous heirs to the throne. An interesting phase of his life at present is his frequent meeting with " Wise men of the Empire," including members of the Cabinet and leading politicians, scientists, and the elder men of Fleet Street.

Tha Prince takes his pleasures strenuously. He is hunting a great deal, using kangaroo skin saddles made in Melbourne. He is keeping his horses at a friend's stables in North Hants, from which place he is able to reach the hunting country of five packs. He has taken his place as the undisputed leader of society, dancing and entertaining with frequency. Kinlark, the steeplechaser presented to the Prince in Australia, is now in North Hants, being acclimatised. The Prince hopes to hunt him this season.

Most of the presents and addresses which he received in Australia and New Zealand will shortly be publicly exhibited at the Imperial Institute, The Prince ia publishing a book of photographs taken during his tour, including amateur snapshots. The proceeds will go to St. Dunstan's Hospital for the Blind. The Prince has received a great number of Christmas and New Year cards from Australia and New Zealand, and he regrets that he is unable to reply to each individual sender.
