GREAT STORM IN SYDNEY

60-MILE AN HOUR WIND.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 1.15 a.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 9. During a cyclonic storm to-day a wind was blowing at the rate of 60* miles an hour and torrential rain fell. The average rainfall for December has already been doubled. All ferry traffic in the harbour beyond Middle Head was stopped. All coastal vessels are sheltering.
