VIEWS OF NAPIER MEN.
OPPOSITION TO COMMISSION.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
NAPIER, Tuesday.
The railwaymen, at a largely-attended meeting to-day in reference to the wages question, carried the following resolution: —"That this meeting strongly objects to the proposal of further commissions or wages boards of any kind whatever, as we are only being 'fooled* by the Department, Minister, and Government. We urge upon our executive the necessity of giving effect to the strike, ballot immediately if the hearing under the Industrial Disputes Investigation' Act is abortive; we also demand full acceptance of schedule as placed before the Government by our executive. We further urge our executive to give the Enginedrivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association our wholehearted support in the event of a strike."
