AVONDALE ROAD BOARD.

i i The Avondale Road Board met on 5 Thursday, Mr. R. B. Nesbitt presided, ■ and* there were also present Messrs. F. Hampshire, A. Morgan, C. P. Gardner '■ W. J. Tait, J. Thomas, and R. J. Allely. ' . ; The Education Board's supervisor of . technical training wrote stating that plans , , for the ' new manual training school at ' I Avondale had been approved [ The Agricultural Department wrote ask- , mg what steps the board purposed taking '. . to appoint a noxious weeds' inspector for' . the district, also complaining that noxiou3 . > weeds were rife. It was decided to reply . J to the effect that the board intended to take advantage of the Act and place the '. I onus on the Department in pereference to appointipg a local inspector in place of [ Mr. S. Thomas (resigned). 3 The board agreed to join the Local . Bodies' Association for Good Roads at the ' annual fee of one guinea, and decided to ' suggest that «it have repr°sentation on the committee. ' The chairman was authorised to employ" an engineer to prepare plans for the pro- . posed improvement of the road adjoining the Oakley Creek on the New North Road. 3 The Government notified that the £T for £ ' subsidy for the work would be payable 3 immediately or receiving satisfactory plans. * Eighteen applications were received for - the appointment of clerk.
