REPAIRS TO LAUNCH.
CLAIM AND COUNTER-CLAIM. A claim for £10 18s. allegedly due on I goods supplied and work done., was made by Wilkinson and Ross, engineers, Nelson Street (Mr. Inder), against V. E. Man:*-' j field (Mr. Graham), before Mr. J. w\ J Poynton, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court) j yesterday. ( The defendant counter-claimed for £221 In his statement he said he was the owner of the launch Desert Gold. In March last he instructed the plaintiff to make and fit new sets of piston rings to the engine. Owing to faulty fitting, however, the sides of the cylinder were scored, and had to be rebored at a cost of £7. The balance of the amount in the counter-claim was to cover the loss in use caused during refitting. The magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff for £9, and costs £3 19s. The counter-claim was dismissed.
