PRESENTATION.
. o , A presentation to the Rev. J. R. Burgin, who for a considerable time past has acted as honorary chaplain to the- Auckland Military Hospital, was made- to him at a meeting of soldiers at that institution yesterday, the occasion being his- removal to Onehunga to take up the position of vicar of St. Peter's Church. The presentation, which took the form of a dressingcase and walking-stick, was made by Sergeant T. A. Bishop, chairman of the soldiers' committee, who spoke of the good work done by Mr. Burgin among the , soldiers and the cordial relations that had always existed between him and the j "diggers." Mr. Burgin made a suitable I acknowledgment. The resignation of Mr. ! Burgin as a member of the executive of j the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Associa- ! tion was las >* vening accepted with regret, and it was decided to place on record the . association's appreciation of his services.
