CHARGES AGAINST PORTER.
COMPLAINTS BY CHILDREN. ACCUSED SENT FOR TRIAL. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN OOHBESPONDENT.] WAIHI. Thursday. At the Police Court yesterday afternoon and evening further charges were heard against Alexander W. Bowden, goods shed porter at the waihi railway station. On a reduced charge of committing an assault on a boy the accused was convicted and fined £5, with 24s costs, while on two of three charges of having indecently assaulted little girls Bowden was commit, ted to. stand his trial at the November sittings of the Supreme Court at Auckland, the third charge being dismissed. Bail was fixed in two sureties of £150 each and accused in a similar amount, the sureties being forthcoming.
