EAST COAST RAILWAY.
NEED' for construction. MATATA TO TANEATTTA. [BY TELEGRAPH,— CORRESrO.VDENT.] TANEATUA, Thursday. The question of the construction.of the East Coast railway line was discussed at a meeting of the Taneatua Chamber of Commerce this week. The following resolution was carried unanimously, and it was decided to forward amies to the Minister for Public Works and the member for the district: — "That this chamber urges upon the Minister the necessity for having the formation work of the East Coast railway line Eat in hand at the earliest possible date etween Matafca and Taneatua. The chamber is of opinion that there are no engineering difficulties in the way of putting a number of men on all along the line; and, with large numbers returning from the front, there will be no difficulty in securing men."
