MOTUIHI HOSPITAL.
Sir,— would like to say a few words in praise of Major Pettit and the nurses at Motnihi quarantine station. We were unfortunate enough to be taken off the Niagara on her arrival here, and landed on the island in a pretty low state, and we really wonder what was wrong with Mr. John Sands and his passenger friends in lodging a complaint against Dr. Pettit and his able staff. The members of that staff did their duty well against the deadly disease, and we firmly believe that Major Pettit in particular deserves great credit for their unfailing attention towards all of us while there, laying helpless in his charge. A. Harlachee, I 0. W. Ross, Jno. H. Pbitohab©. * 8 ShV-WTTJ yon kindly permit me to express my thankt to Major Pettit, Matron Speedy, and Nurse Ferguson, for their great attention and consideration to ms, : and to many others during our recent . illness, ex Niagaja. All of them did, their work well, under very trying cir- , cumstances. We should give honour where honour is due. E. Taylor, Ex-Labour M.P., South Australia.
