AUCKLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL.
Sir,— Mb letter of the 16th inst. ; Mr. Tibbs kindly offers me the opportunity of personally seeing that the physical education of the boys is not being neglec'ed. He fails, however, to affirm that it can be shown to be in any way adequate. I have knowledge, that for a sound, all round course of physical culture, the provision made is most decidedly inadequate, and therein lies the reason for my contention that a thoroughly equipped gymnasium and swimming pool should be at once provided by the board. Surely Mr. Tibbs does not think that such important essentials, in the matter of true physical educate are not required at his school I trust Mr. Tibbs will understand that my only reason for writing on this subject is the fact that I am much interested in the welfare of the boys, and 1 'feel that, in comparison with other secondary schools, they are not having a " fair deal.'' Akabana.
