THE HOUSING PROBLEM.
PROPOSALS IN BRITAIIN. EXPENDITURE OF £150,000,000. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Apiil 18. The House of Commons discussed a resolution authorising expenditure on housing and town-planning. Dr. C. Addison, president of the Local Government Board, said he expected 100,000 houses to be. built in 1919, and 200,000 in 1920 and 1921, at, approximately £500 to £600 each, aggregating £150,000,000, which the Government would assist local authorities to raise.
