NEED FOR FUTURE WORK.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA, Friday.

A social gathering was held at the tea kiosk, in the Rotorua Government gardens, this week, to which the ladies of the Rotorua branch of the Auckland Women's Patriotic League arid Red Cross Society were invited by Mr. W. Hill, resident officer, and Mrs. Hill, to meet tho Countess of Liverpool. Mrs. Hill said Her Excellency had taken a keen interest in all branches of women's patriotic work. Though the war was over their work was more extensive than ever. She hoped that those who had conscientiously worked from the beginning would keep on to the end. The Countess of Liverpool said (hat although in seme districts the committees were breaking up, she could see that tho work in Rotorua would go on tor some time longer. She congratulated tho branch on the splendid and loyal way in which it had worked and helped the Centre Committee in Auckland, as well as providing (or the needs of the invalid eoldiers at Rotorua. She urged them not to let the spirit of voluntary service, which the war had fostered, escape from their rnidst. For a long time the wounded and disabled would need their sympathy and care.
