DEFEAT OF BOLSHEVIKS.
BRITISH TEOOPS' ADVANCE. GERMANS REINFORCE ENEMY. Australian and X.Z, Cable Association. (Seed. 7.4S p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 26. It is announced that General Poole has considerably advanced up the Dwina River, and has cleared both sides for fifty miles south of Berenitskaia, severely defeating 'the Bolsheviks and sinking four ships. The situation of the Czechs on the Volga front continues to be serious/ h considerable enemy force is operating in the direction, of-KniMiipfirosk, which the Czechs bold. The Bolsheviks are constantly reinforced by Germans. The new Bolshevik army is to consist ultimately of 500,000 men, whom the Germans are actively engaged in instructing. The majority of the Bolshevik forces ore comparatively worthless, whil&ytwo-thirds of the peasantry, about half the workmen, and the whole of the bourgeoisie are intensely hostile to Bolshevik rule. Many work*™ on the Volga tried to join the Czechs, but the Bolsheviks prevented them.
