ENEMY VOLUNTARILY ABANDONS HIS FORWARD LINE. LITTLE ARTILLERY OR INFANTRY RESISTANCE. Beuter. (Beceited 11.55 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 26. The French and American offensive was on a 40-mile front between the Rivers Suippe and the Meuse. The attacking forces progressed to a depth of some miles. The enemy voluntarily abandoned his forward positions, consequently there was little artillery or infantry resistance.
