A German official wireless, message states:—We repulsed partial attacks at many points between the Yser and the Ancre. The British and French, bringing up strong reserves, coptinuod their attacks on the whole front between the Ancre and the Avre. We threw back the enemy on both sides of the Soramo and astride the FoucaucourtrVillere-Brctonneui Road. The enemy gained ground in the centre of the battlefront between Rosieres and Hangest-en-Santerre. Our counter-attacks brought him to a standstill west of Lihons and east of the Rosieres-Warvillers line. We withdrew during the night to rear lines east of Montdidier.
The evening report statesßetween the Ancre and the Oise enemy attacks were shattered before our fighting positions.
