CHINA INLAND MISSION.
An interesting and instructive lantern lecture on China was delivered in St. Andrew's Hall on Saturday evening by Mr. Robert Powell, of the China Inland Mission. Mr. Powell outlined, to a large and appreciative audience, many of the singular native customs and the folk lore of theMiao tribe which inhabits the mountains of the south-west of ChinaHe emphasised the great effect of Christianity among the people, and the farextended _ activities of his own mission, with which over 1000 missionaries are connected. The lantern-slides with which the lecture was illustrated were very fine. Mr. Powell will repeat his lecture this evening in the Central Mission Hall. Albert Street. '
