SWIMMING.
LIFE-SAVING CLASSES. During the winter, the fortnightly club nights at the Tepid Bath, Hobson Street, will be devoted- mostly to life-saving work, with water polo practice and diving to complete the programmes. Swimming competitions will be conducted, but, in the interest of life-saving classes, only back-stroke and breast-stroke races will be swum.. The first of the life-saving, polo, and diving classes will be held this evening. The classes meet from 7 till 9 p.m. ONEHUNGA SWIMMING CLUB. A meeting is being arranged to place the Onehunga Swimming Club in a strong posi--1 tion for the early commencement or next season. An effort will also be made to provide accommodation, so that the club will be able to decide its competitions and hold life-saving demonstrations on the beach at Onehunga, instead of having to go to Auckland.
