SUPPLIES OF BUTTER.
LOCAL REQUIREMENTS. ' PRICE TO BE FIXED SHORTLY. [dt telegraph.— CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. Speaking in the Houso of Representatives this afternoon Mr. J. S. Dickson (Parnell) suggested that the Government should requisition butter from' the Auckland factories for supplying retailers who, he said, have now to obtain supplies from Wellington. Mr. Massey replied that questions regarding the winter supply of butter were being dealt with by the Solicitor-General and on Order»in-Courcil would be gazetted in a few days. If intervention was needed, the Government would take action. The maximum price for butter required for local use would be gazetted and also the price at which the Government would sell butter from the Imperial supply. Under the new arrangement there would not be any need to get but* ter from Wellington.
