OBITUARY.
MR. G. JACK. Mb. Gideon Jack, of Glenfield, who passed away recently, at Takapuna, came to New Zealand from Glasgow nearly 35 years ago by the steamer Triumph, the second direct steamer to arrive in the Dominion. After spending two years in Auckland, Mr. Jack removed to Glenfield, where he engaged in fruit-growing, an occupation which he followed until failing health compelled him to retire. He task & keen interest in the wolfaro of the district, and was a member of the Glendeld School Committoo for over 20 years. He was one of the founders of the Presbyterian Church at Northcote, and was for a number of years an elder of the church, besides being a member of the choir for over 20 years.
