Sib Robert Stout, Chief Justice, returned to Wellington by last Bight's express. Mr. Jackson Palmer, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, left for Wellington by the express last night. Mr. Thomas Stanley, Mayor of To Aroha, accompanied by Mrs. Stanley, is at present on a visit to Aucklaud. Mr. P. C. J. Bellringcr hag been rei elected chairman of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitablo Aid Board. Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., of Wellington, who has been on a holiday visit to Auckland, left for the- South by last night's express. Mr. H. D. Heather, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, is at present confined to his homo suffering from a heavy cold. Messrs. M. J. Coyle and S. J. Harbutt were yesterday re-elected unopposed as representatives of the road board districts of Eden County on tho Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. . Dr. A. W. Averill, Anglican Bishop of Auckland, will leave for Christchurch on Saturday to attend the General Synod to bo opened at Christehurch next Wednesday. The bishop has been asked to preach , the synod sermon in Christchurch Cathedral.
