RETURNED SOLDIERS.
♦ CIVIL EMPLOYMENT. NEW CONDITIONS ISSUED. The military authorities have approved of the following general order regarding the position of returned soldiers in accepting civil employment:— 1. A returned soldier on final leave, prior to discharge, will be permitted to take up civil employment, if he so desires, and may continue to draw his Expeditionary Force pay up to the duto of discharge. 2. A returned soldier on sick leave ivill only be permitted to take up civil employment under exceptional circumstances, upon a medical officer's certiicato that such occupation will in no way retard the health of the convalescent, and provided that he is willing to forego his Expeditionary Force pay during the period. In all cases, permission to accept civil nnployment must be obtained (from the lirector of base records through tho ipplicant's group commander.
