ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.
TEACHERS' CONFERENCE. The conference of teachers of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Auckland was continued at the Catholic schoolroom, Vermont Street, Ponsonby, yesterday morning. A lengthy discussion 011 the selection of , subject matter for the catechetical lessons to bo given in the schools took place, and ultimately a committee r? appointed to frame a suitable syllabus. A model lesson in blackboard drawing .iis then given to a class of girls. In the afternoon the meeting was continued at the Sacred Heart Convent, Remuera, when a demonstration lesson, illustrating the teaching of the French language by modern methods, was given to a class of pupils of about 13 years of age. A lecture on the art of giving model instruction in arithmetic was also ' delivered. . During tho day a cablegram was re- 1 ceived from Archbishop Cerretti, the 1 Apostolic Delegate to Australasia, convey- 1 ing the blessing of His Holiness the Pope • to tho members of tho conference.
