MATERIAL FOB HOSPITALS. APPEAL BY QUEEN MARY'S GUILD. The Queen Mary's Guild for sick and wounded soldiers, has just despatched a further consignment of seven cases of clothing, etc., from Auckland to headquarters in London, for distribution to hospitals. The guild is now asking the public for funds, both for tie purchase of material for clothing and to help with the maintenance of a St. John Ambulance Hospital of 500 beds in Prance. As it is now winter in England the guild is experiencing the need for more help, and it is felt that with so many of the New Zealand soldiers in the British hospitals, this appeal should have even more interest for us now than formerly. The Queen Mary's uuild is recognised as a separate organisation by the British War Office, Mrs. Smith, corps lady superintendent, will be glad to receive gifts, both of money and material, at the ambulance station in Rutland Street. The nurses' bazaar in aid of wounded soldiers, will be held this afternoon in the nurses* home, Auckland District Hospital. Music, games, stalls, and a Christmas tree represent a few features of the function. "*"•
