T Pbtroghad, October 2. Military critics consider that the enemy's offensive from Riga to Pinsk has been arrested.
Pinsk is near the Pripet marshes. The stretch from Riga to Pinsk leaves only the Volhynian theatre to be accounted for, and here the Russians are also reported to be successful.

London, October 2. The newspaper Berliner Tageblatt announces that the Russians have penetrated the Austrian trenches between the sources of the Rivers Goryn and Ikva.
The Goryn and the Ikva are rivers in Volhynia. The district between them is north of the Volhynian triangle of fortresses, where the Russians have been consistently successful.
