£636 FROM COMPETITION.
The sum of £636 15s has been divided between the Belgian Relief Fund and the Victoria League's Red Cross Fund as a result of the competition promoted by .Mis. Alexander. The watch upon which it was arranged stopped at 6h 34m 2s, and tlio gold bracelet watch given by Mr. A. Kohn has been awarded to M. E. Cullinanc, O'Neill Street, Ponsonby, whose guess was only one second earlier. Cheques for £318 7s 6d each were handed to Mr. Robert Burns, acting-Consul for Belgium, and Dr. 'I'. Hope Lewis, president of the Victoria Lea cue, by Mrs. Alexander on Saturday morning. "in accepting the contributions, the representatives of the two funds expressed their appreciation of the industry and enthusiasm with which the scheme had been carried to such a satisfactory termination.
