FIRE AT MOUNT ALBERT.
DWELLING DESTROYED.
A not six-roomed house in Calgary Street, Mount Albert, was destroyed by fire shortly before midnight. The owner, and occupier of the building, Mr. G. Young, was in bed when the fire started, but, accompanied by his wife, he escaped safely. The Mount Albert Fire Brigade arrived promptly, but, owing to the fact that the fire had a good hold and that the water pressure was small, it was unable to save anything. All Mr. Young's furniture, which, it is understood, is insured in the State Office, was burned. Details as to insurance on the house were not available last night.
