BRITISH MERCHANTMEN LOST.
TOTAL OF 103 SINCE THE WAR BEGAN. Wellington, April 2. The High Commissioner reports from London, under date of yesterday :— " Since the outbreak of the war the British merchant vessels lost by hostile action have numbered 103, of a total gross tonnage of 360,650, For the week ended March 31, five vessels were lost, of a total tonnage of 15,220.''
