THE EASTER TOURNAMENT. TO COMMENCE TO-DAY. The Auckland provincial golf championship meeting end handicap tournament will commence at Middlomore to-day' at 10 a.m., and I bo continued on Monday and Tuesday. The I programme and arrangements are as fol- ! lows : — | To-day : Auckland provincial amateur ! championship, qualifying round of SS holes, j j medal play 16 to qualify); match play thereafter; final to be played over 18 holes. The \ winner will hold the Auckland provincial championship cup (presented by Hon. S. Thorne-George) for one year. Trophies will bo given to winner and runner-up. A medal handicap of 36 holes will bo played in conjunction with the provincial championship. April 5: Morning—Auckland provincial amateur championship, match play, 18 holes, : first round; bogey handicap, 18 holes. Afternoon—Auckland provincial amateur championship, second round; fourball (best ball) bogey handicap, IS holes. April 6: Morning Auckland provincial amateur championship, semi-final, 18 holes; medal handicap, 18 holes. Afternoon—Auckland provincial amateur championship, final; bogey handicap, 18 holes. Continuous putting competitions, 12-hole course, prize each day for best cards. The conditions state that competitors must , be prepared to play any round of any ©vent ■ whenever called upon to do so; that any event may bo postponed by the co nmittee to such day and hour as it may consider ft; i and that the decision of the committee of . the Auckland Golf Club on all points cr disputes shall be final. Any local rule which the committee finds > necessary to make will be posted at the club- . house. AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB. I The members of the Auckland Ladies' ; Goll Club are requested to note that the ] links will bo closed for ladies' play during j Luster. , The nest monthly medal will be played on Friday, April 9. The election of candi- ( dates for membership will be held at the i clubhouso on the same afternoon. ( The Bed Cross medal matches will be i played on the second Tuesday of each month. ] An entrance fee of la will bo made, and the ( proceeds will be given to the Red Cross t Society. The Ladies' Golf Union has i ordered bronzo medals, which will be pre- 1 sonted to the winners of the matches.
