THE LEAGUE GAME.

PONSONBY UNITED CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Ponsonby United Football Club was largely attended, a most enthusiastic spirit being shown by the members. The report and balancesheet stated that the past season had been successful both in financial matters and in play. The results of the play were most satisfactory, and the olub has emerged financially with a credit balance of £21 ss, un increase on labt year's figures of £14 7s 6d, besides sundry assets. The membership during tho past season was 92 registered players. A proportion of these, howover, did not take an active part, and the number of financial members was not satisfactory in comparison with tho total membership. It is pointed out that by paying their subscriptions promptly for tho coming season members will render great assistance to tho management or tho club. One team each was entered in the first, second, third and fourth grades lust year, the third grade team emerging victorious, and the senior players being the runners-up in their grade. The second and fourth grade teams were both in good positions. Special mention was made of the number of players who have gone to the front, the club being represented by twelve members. The club expressed its thanks to Mr. T. W. Leys for Ins continued valuable support, anil for the use of % tho committee room in the Leys Institute. The report and balance-sheet wero adopted. It was decided that Mr. .A. Curia one of the founders of the Ponsonby Club and of the League game in general, bo elected a life member.
