FALL INTO HARBOUR.
INCIDENT AT THE FERRIES.
■y exciting incident occurred at The Ferries yesterday at about 1 p.m., after the steamer Kestrel arrived from Motukorea with a picnic party consisting of tho Auckland Tramways Company's employees land their friends. One of tho picnickers ! endeavoured to step on shore while he held I his young son in his arms. The man [missed his footing and fell over the side lof the steamer into the water. Without 1 much difficulty a rescue was effected. The 'lad, who-had clung to his father, escaped I without injury. The father, however, ,struck the rail of the steamer or some i other obstruction, and was cut about the i face and bruised on his side.
