KAIPARA HOSPITAL BOARD.

RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN.

Tjte quarterly meeting of the Kaipara Hospital Board was held at Dargaville on Friday last. There were present: Messrs. T. Bassett (chairman), D. McCarroll, J. A. McLean, R. Smith, and J. Stallworthy.

The financial statement showed that receipts for the quarter totalled £1502. and the expenditure—which included salaries for four months, or one month into the current quarter—amounted to £740, leaving a credit bank balance of £562. In addition to the balance, the. following sums were due: Hobson County Council, £801; Otamatea County Council, £784; Dargaville Borough Council, £185; and Department of Public Health, £1529, making a total of £3338 to be paid to the credit of the board. With the expenditure of £1780 for the cottage hospital at Paparoa, and the installation of an electric plant and X-rays apparatus, to cost £626, at, Te Kopuru Hospital, the sum of £1550 would remain to meet all contingenciesThe question of co-operating with the Public Works Department in equipping a t hospital suitable for workmen engaged en the formation of the North Auckland Main Trunk railway line, was deferred till next meeting.
