Mrs, White identified the body of Patterson as that of 1 man who bad been to the house at Palmerston North during the Christmas holidays. White in his statement to Constable Martin at Rongotea stated that, he and Patterson had been having a very heavy drinking bout at the time at their carup. Mrs. White, identified the other body as that of her husband. Her son gave similar evidence. V . Stond.ibl, who made a post-mortem en Ktli bodies-, state.! that the deceased ru»n were suffering from alcoholic poisonl";. which caused heart failure. A verdat in accordance with the medical evidence was returned.
The funeral took place at R-ongotea on Sunday afternoon.
