Sir Hamilton Goold-Adams has been High Commissioner of Cyprus since 1911. He was born in 1858. the son of the late K. W. Goold-Adams. He is a major or the Royal Scots Regiment, and served with the Berhuanaland expedition under Sir Charles Warren in lbß4 and
1885. Ho commanded the field force against the Matabele in 1893, and was Resident Commissioner in the Bechuanaland Protectorate. He served in the South African war, and from 1907 to 1910 was Governor of the Orange River Colony.
