ALLIES MAKE PROGRESS AGAINST STRONG POSITIONS.
DAY AVI) XIGHI ATTACKS OF ENEMY REPULSED. GERMAN RIGHT WING REPORTED TO BE BROKEN. 'Received September 30, 11 p.m.) Pakis, September 29. An official communique states: We have repulsed several day and night attacks on our left, north of the Somme and at Vise. The situation north of the Aisne is unchanged. In the centre and on the east of the Argonne the enemy confined their operations to heavy cannonades. Between the Argonne and the Mouse we have progressed slightly against strongly-prepared positions. There is no change in the oevre region and on our right wing. The official communique indicates that the French left extends from Albert. IS miles east of Amiens, to Com'oles, 20 miles south of Arras. London, September 29. The correspondent of the Exchange Agency telegraphs from Paris at midnight a report that the German right wing has been entirely broken, and that all automobiles have been requisitioned by the allies for the purpose of pursuit. The report has not been confirmed. " PRACTICALLY "0 CHANGE IN THE SITUATION." ALLIES' LEFT WING WELL HOLDING THEIR OWN. Wellington, September 30. The High Commissioner reports from London on September 30: It. is officially announced that there is practically no change in the situation. The allies' left wing had heavy fighting, but are well holding their own.
