GERMANS ATTACK WITH UNAVAILING VIOLENCE.
FAILURE OF ATTEMPT TO ADVANCE EAST OF RHEIMS TWO BATTALIONS OF THE PRUSSIAN GUARD WIPED OUT. Paris, September 29. Th..> German attack eastward of Rheims was renewed yesterday with unavailing violence. The failure to advance was accompanied by severe loss of killed, wounded, prisoners, and guns. Two battalions of the Prussian Guard were wiped out on Monday. The losses of the Guards corps were tremendous, some regiments losing all their officers.
