BRITISH AND FRENCH ARMIES CLOSING IN.
NOW REPORTED TO BE IN IMMEDIATE TOUCH. BRITISH AIRMEN OBTAIN VALUABLE INFORMATION. Wellington, September 30. The High Commissioner reports from London on September 29: It is officially reported at headquarters that the British and French armies are in immediate touch. The 23rd passed without incident in regard to major operations. The enemy concentrated a heavy artillery tire near I'aissy. The absence of wind gave our airmen a chance of obtaining much information. On the 2'lth there was a lull in the action, heavy German shells falling mostly near Pargaan. Aviators made many flights, producing much activity.
