(Received September 17, 6 p m.)
London, September 16. Tho Kaiserin welcomed Prince Joachim, the Kaiser's son, who was wounded in Belgium, on his return to Berlin. The prince exclaimed: "God allowed me to be wounded. I bless Him, and am proud of the day I fell." He added that the Germans subdued their fire at Weerde, inducing the Belgians to advance. Then hell broke loose. The whole German front spat a continuous stream of lead, and the deadly fire of the big guns wiped out the head of the Belgian column as a sponge wipes out the marks on a slate.
