SHORT LIST OF CASES.
Four first offenders for drunkenness were each fined 5s and costs, in default 24 hours' imprisonment at tho Police Court on Saturday. Alfred John Edmonds, for being disorderly while drunk on the Queen's Wharf, was fined 10s and costs. Thomas Ford, for committing a similar offenoo in Albert Street, was fined £1, in default three days' imprisonment. ,
Frank Crumlish, alias McDermott, and William McKeo wore charged with drunk enncss and procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. Roth pleaded guilty, and the former was fined £2 and the latter £3.
Ernest Millar and Eli Riekards were charged with using threatening behaviour In a public place. The- evidence showed that the latter was the aggressor, and lie was fined £2, while the charge against Millar was dismissed.
Joseph Griffiths, alias Jack Bcston, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment for being an idle and disorderly person. Thomas Henderson Ross was fined £5 for using obsccno language, in default ono month's imprisonment, Walter Harold Stent was remanded till Friday on a chargo of stealing a fishingboat, valued at £90, tho property of Thomas McGrnitli. Bail was allowed, accused in £100 and ono surety of £100,
