PRICE OF FOODSTUFFS.
GOVERNMENT REGULATION.
APPROVED BY EMPLOYERS-
DUTY TO THE WORKERS.
The question of the Government regulating the prices of foodstuffs, both for local consumption and export, was considered at a meeting of the executive committee of. the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association yesterday, and it was unanimously resolved to heartily approve of the suggestion that tho prices should bo regulated.
In referring to tho resolution adopted by the association,.the president, Mr. E. A. Craig, when questioned subsequently, said he considered that as the workers of this Dominion would in all probability be called upon to make great sacrifices for tho Empire by rendering personal service under arms and in other directions, it was plainly the duty of the New Zealand Employers' Federation to co-operate in every way- possible to prevent any excessive advances in the prices of food supplies. Mr. Craig stated that tho membors at the meeting hold similar views to those he had just expressed.
