A fierce encounter has taken place between the loft wing of the Belgian Army and a massed force of German cavalry, infantry, and artillery.
The Belgians displayed wonderful coolness under a fierce fire. After a prolonged engagement the Germans were completely routed-
The victory has caused the liveliest enthusiasm in the allied line.

A regiment of German Dragoons attempted to surprise th« Belgians At Aincffc, 13 miles west of Liege. They were repulsed after a three hours' fight.
The losses of the enemy were 153 killed and 102 taken prisoner.
DISPOSITION OF THE ENEMY'S FORCES ASCERTAINED.
GERMAN FORCE COMPRISES TWENTY-SIX ARMY CORPS.

The official Press Bureau states that scouts of the allied forces have definitely located the bulk of the German Army. It comprises
26 army corps, and the. disposition of most of thorn has been
ascertained.
It is evident that the mass of the enemy's forces is concentrated between Liege- and Luxemburg along a front of nearly 80 miles.
