ITALY IN THE ADRIATIC.
VITAL CONSIDERATIONS.
ATTITUDE OF ENTENTE.
London, August 10.
The Times in a leader says: " Italy well knows that the success of the Austrian arms would destroy forever her hopes of maintaining the freedom of the Adriatic. It is in the Adriatic that her most vital interests lie, and while neither Great Britain nor France can at this stage of hostilities guarantee to Italy the acquisition of new territory, it may be taken for granted that neither this country nor its allies would offer any opposition to such action as Italy may deem requisite to safeguard her future."
