£330 FROM 1260z.

The manager of the Occidental Consolidated mine, Thames, telegraphed yesterday as follows: —" Return from 58 loads general oro, 1260z 12dwt of melted gold." It is estimated that the value of this return is about £330.

Good dabs of gold could be seen at each breaking down of the reef at the Occidental Consolidated mine last week. A rise was being put up from the back of the top stopo to test the reef up to the height of No. 4 level. The reef was strong going up, but later on it was not so favourable. WAITANGI CONSOLIDATED. In the western section of No. 3 level, west of No. 1 rise, Waitangi Consolidated mine, Tararu, the reef was looking well last week. A picked samplo of mineral oro, containing zinc blende and a littlegalena and tclluridc, gave the assay value of £89 17s 6d per ton. The reef in No. 2 level was looking well, and two samples taken were from the face. One for a width of 3ft on the footwall side gave the result of £4 Os 6d per ton, and the other for a width from 3ft to 6ft, gave the value of £1 6s 7d per ton. WATCHMAN. The reef in No. 6 rise at the Watchman mine, Thames, occasionally showed gold last week. The- manager reports that all the faces where quartz was broken showed no material change to that of the previous week, and no difficulty was experienced in getting ore to keep the mill running. KUKANUI. i . . Tho main crosscut at the Kuranm mine, Thames, was advanced 9ft last week. _ A leader about 6in in width was crossing the face at a long angle. The quartz was carrying nice looking mineral. A further sft was advanced on tho New reef, driving westward. The country was a firm class of andesite, interlaced with numerous mineral seams. Tho quartz broken from the hangingwall was carrying a good class 'of mineral. NEW SYLVIA. The manager of the New Sylvia mino, Thames, telegraphed yesterday as follows: "Next 7ft assays £4 10s; sft wide."
