OTAHUHU NEWS.
The. Anglican Bishop of Auckland, Dr. A. W..Averill, preached to a crowded congregation at the Holy Trinity Church on Sunday ovening. The \icar, Rev. 11. Mason, and Mr. A. Richards, lay-reader, assisted at the service. Prior to tho sermon the vicar presented to the bishop a petition, signed by the churchwardons and other members of the congregation, asking Dr. f Av©rill' v ; to license Mr. Richards to serve as lay-reader. The bishop granted tho request, and afterwards presented 14 men with the badges of membership in tho Church of England Men's Society.
