THE EMPIRE VETERANS.
A nnwHER distinction has been conferred upon tho King's Empire Veterans by Field Marshal Earl Roberts, V.0., in accepting tie position of patron of the corps. The officer commanding, Colonel R. B. Morrow, recently wrote to Earl Roberts, asking him to give his patronage to the corps, and he has now received a reply, in which the distinguished soldier says?—"lt gives me much pleasuro to accept your invitation to becomo the patron of the corps, and I feel proud to be connected with it. A bronze badge, exactly similar to those worn by members of the corps, is to be forwarded to its patron, with the following inscription on the reverse side:—"Field Marshal Earl Roberts, V.C., with best wishes from tho King's Empiie Veterans, N.Z., 1914."
