ARREST OF EARL BRASSEY

STROLL AROUND SHIPYARDS.

By Telegraph— Association—Copyright. (Received June 28, 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, June 27. The arrest of Earl Brassey at Kiel on suspicion of espionage was caused by the fact that ho landed and strolled in the vicinity of the shipyards. He was not aware of any prohibitive regulations, and was arrested, though he is well known in Kiel.

The Kaiser personally inquired into the affair, and Lord Brassey assured him that he was courteously treated.

Lord Brassey himself declared he was not actually arrested. He was treated courteously, and only detained a few minutes, as the mutual explanations were not intelligible. Afterwards ho dined with the Kaiser.
