MISSION TO SEAMEN.
Under the direction of tho British and Foreign Sailors' Society, a bright evening service was held last night, the ball being well filled with seamen. At the close the workers mixed with the seamen and visitors, many of whom stayed to the later service, and sang favourite hymns.
Y.M.C.A. Yesterday was "mother's Day" at the Y.M.C.A., and to mark tho occasion a special meeting was held in the afternoon, presided over by Mr. W. Todd Smith. In the absence of Mrs. Saunders, who had been announced as the speaker, Mrs. John Robb gave an interesting and appropriate address. Sacred solos were rendered by Mrs. Boveridge, and Messrs. H. Blakeley and G. Buckley. Over 100 persons were present! the majority wearing the customary white flower for the day. Following tho meeting was a strangers' tea, at which were visitors from various parts of the North Island. tf YOUNG WOMEN'S v CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION. Miss Alexander, 8.A., addressed the meeting of the Young Women's Christian Association yesterday, lairing as her subject "Fight the Good Fight of Faith." Members were very interested as Miss Alexander described one and another of those sha had met as students at the Y.W.C.A. Institute in New York. A Chinese physical director was there, and also a Eurasian, who has since been appointed general secretary in Lahore
THE CENTRAL MISSION. The mission band held tho usual openair moeting at Quay Street in the morning, while the shipping workers conducted a service on the deck of s.s. Otaki. Mr. Taylor, of the China Inland Mission ; gave a.farewell address to the members in the mission ball at 11 a.m., Mrs. Taylor singing a sacred solo. He also preached a gospel address in His Majesty's Theatre in the evening to a crowded audience. The soloist at this service was Mr. McDougall.

Several questions were asked and answered, and an interesting discussion took place at the close of the lecture. At the H.P.B. Lodge public meeting in the Chamber of Commerce Hall, Mr. 0. E. Hemus lectured on "How to Reach Initiation."
