WHITTON BACK TO FORM.
The Sandwich links aro crowded at present with entrants for tho amateur championship. Two more Australians, E. O. Apperly and Terrey, have entered. On May 8 Ivo Whitton. the Australian open champion, partnered by the Hon. Michael Scott, played a four-ball match with Hilton and V. A. Pollock, and although Hilton had an approximate score of 72 Whitton's side won on the last green. Whitton went round in 74, and caused a great deal of jjurpriso by tho excellence of his golf, .vhich was altogether of a better class than that which he exhibited at Sunningdale. He showed supreme confidence, and judged tho wind beautifully.
