AEROPLANE FOR ARCTIC.
AMUNDSEN IN ENGLAND. Times and Sydney Sun Service*. (Received May 14, 6.20 p.m.) London, May 14. Yesterday, Captain Amundsen, who discovered the South Pole and now proposes to set off to the Arctic regions, inspected a British-built aeroplane with a view to its purchase for his expedition. BY AIR TO ANTARCTICA. Sydney, May 14. Speaking at a meeting of the Aerial League last night, Professor David said that, when -aeroplanes tccamo safer and cheaper, it would be possible to visit readily and enjoy the unparalleled sights of the Antarctic regions.
