Chbistchurch, TuesdayThe employers were not represented when the Taxi-cab Drivers' Union appeared before the Conciliation Council today. The Commissioner said the employers had written objecting that there) was no union registered under the name of the taxi-cab drivers. Mr. Hunter, secretary of the Drivers' Union, said that they employed the name for the sake of convenience. The workers concerned were members of the' Drivers' Union. Mr. pooper (Employers' Association): There is no registered anion of that name. The Court has distinctly refused to. recognise the Drivers' Union in consequence of the recent strike. After a discussion, the Commissioner said he would sit on March 20, to hear fresh citations by Mr. Hunter. Mr. Cooper said that employers would decline to attend the proceedings. The Court had made the position quite clear in dismissing the case brought by the Drivers' Union after the strike.
