OIL RESERVES INCREASED.

SPEEDING UP BATTLESHIPS.

£1,000,000 FOR CONTRACTORS.

CANADIAN DREADNOUGHTS.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.

(Received March 3, 6 p.m.)

London, March 2. In introducing the Supplementary Naval Estimates of £2,500,000, Mr. Churchill (First Lord of the Acfcniralty) said that the unavoidable increase of the oil reserves had cost £500,000. The supplies were now enough for a triennium of peace or a year of war. The acceleration of the three battleships to cover the delay in the promised Canadian ships had accounted for £450,000, and quicker work by the contractors for £1,000,000.
